Updating SOQs with Variations

During project execution, variations occur due to scope changes, unexpected tasks, or material shortages. In 14Build, SOQs can be updated dynamically, ensuring real-time project cost adjustments.



When to Update an SOQ

  1. Scope Changes:

    • New tasks are added to expand the project’s scope.
  2. Material Price Changes:

    • Material costs increase due to market price fluctuations.
  3. Unexpected Requirements:

    • Additional tasks arise during project execution.


How to Update an SOQ


Step 1: Open the Project SOQ

  • Navigate to Project Dashboard > SOQ Management.
  • Select the relevant SOQ and click “Edit”.

Step 2: Add New Jobs or Categories

  1. Add New Job Category:

    • Click “Add Category” if the variation requires a new category.
  2. Add New Jobs:

    • Click “Add Job” under an existing or new category.
    • Define job details, unit costs, and quantities.

Step 3: Update Existing Jobs

  • Adjust job quantities or unit costs for existing jobs as needed.
  • Click “Save Changes”.
